Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of all services provided by Global Servers, including virtual private servers, dedicated servers, cloud hosting, and related services. This AUP supplements and is incorporated into the Global Servers Terms of Service; by using our services, you agree to comply with both documents.
The purpose of this policy is to protect our infrastructure, other customers, and the broader internet community from harmful, illegal, or abusive activities. Violations of this AUP may result in warnings, service suspension, account termination, and in serious cases, referral to law enforcement authorities.
Permitted Uses
Global Servers' infrastructure may be used for a wide range of legitimate business and personal purposes, including:
- Hosting websites, web applications, and APIs for commercial or personal use
- Development and testing environments, staging servers, and continuous integration pipelines
- Lawful e-commerce operations, including online storefronts and payment processing integrations
- Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications and content management systems (with legally licensed content)
- Media streaming services where the customer holds necessary rights
- General-purpose computing workloads, databases, file storage, and email hosting for legitimate business use
Prohibited Activities
Hosting CSAM, actively conducting DDoS attacks, or distributing malware will result in immediate account termination, no refund, and referral to law enforcement.
The following activities are strictly prohibited on the Global Servers platform:
- Sending or facilitating unsolicited bulk email (spam), whether commercial or otherwise
- Uploading, distributing, or hosting malware, spyware, ransomware, trojans, or any other malicious software
- Conducting or facilitating DDoS attacks, SYN floods, or any form of network attack against any system
- Unauthorized access to systems, networks, or accounts — including hacking, cracking, or exploitation of vulnerabilities
- Copyright infringement, including hosting or distributing pirated software, media, or other protected content
- Hosting, transmitting, or distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — zero-tolerance policy
- Phishing, credential harvesting, identity theft, and social engineering attacks
- Unauthorized port scanning, network mapping, or vulnerability scanning of systems outside your own account
- Cryptocurrency mining operations without prior written approval from Global Servers
Content Restrictions
Content hosted on Global Servers' infrastructure must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws. Content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of third parties — including copyrights, trademarks, and patents — is prohibited, and Global Servers will respond to valid takedown requests as described in our DMCA policy.
Content that promotes, glorifies, or facilitates terrorism, mass violence, or hate crimes based on race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation is strictly prohibited.
Adult content containing explicit sexual material may only be hosted on designated adult-hosting plans. Customers must implement robust age verification mechanisms in compliance with applicable law and must clearly label all adult content appropriately.
Resource Usage Policy
Each customer is allocated specific computing resources as defined in their service plan, including CPU cores, RAM, disk space, and bandwidth. No single customer may consume resources in excess of their allocated plan limits on a sustained basis. Brief burst usage may be tolerated, but chronic overuse will result in throttling or an upgrade requirement.
On shared hosting plans, the fair use principle applies: no single account may negatively impact the performance or availability of services for other customers on the same physical host. Automated processes, bots, scrapers, or scripts that generate excessive load without prior authorization may be throttled or terminated.
Customers who repeatedly exceed their resource allocations will be notified and offered plan upgrade options. Continued violations after notice may result in service suspension.
Security Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts and all services deployed within their hosting environment. This includes:
- Maintaining strong, unique passwords and enabling two-factor authentication where available
- Promptly revoking access for former employees or contractors
- Keeping all installed software — including operating systems, web applications, CMS platforms, and plugins — patched and updated
- Responding promptly to security incident notifications from Global Servers and taking corrective action within the specified timeframe
Customers bear full responsibility for all activity that occurs under their account credentials. Leaving known vulnerable applications exposed to the internet may result in your account being used as a vector for attacks on other systems, which violates this AUP regardless of customer awareness.
Reporting Violations
Global Servers takes abuse reports seriously and investigates all credible reports of AUP violations. To report a suspected violation, send a detailed report including supporting evidence (log files, screenshots, IP addresses, timestamps) to support@gvoservers.com.
Our abuse team aims to acknowledge all reports within 24–48 business hours. Complex investigations may take longer to resolve. Reporters may choose to remain anonymous; anonymous reports will still be investigated. Individuals or organizations that submit good-faith abuse reports are protected from retaliation, and we will not disclose reporter identities without legal compulsion.
Enforcement
Global Servers enforces this AUP using a progressive enforcement model designed to address violations proportionate to their severity:
- Warning — Written notice describing the violation and the corrective action required for minor or first-time violations
- Throttling — Resource throttling applied to limit the impact of the offending activity on other customers
- Suspension — Temporary service suspension pending investigation and remediation for persistent or escalated violations
- Termination — Permanent account termination for severe or ongoing violations
Certain violations — including hosting CSAM, actively conducting DDoS attacks, or distributing malware — are subject to immediate termination without prior warning. No refunds will be issued for accounts terminated due to AUP violations.
DMCA Process
Global Servers respects the intellectual property rights of copyright holders and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). To submit a valid DMCA takedown notice, rights holders must send a written notification including:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
- Identification of the infringing material and its location on our network
- Contact information for the complainant
- A statement of good faith belief that use is not authorized
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information provided is accurate
DMCA notices should be sent to our designated agent at support@gvoservers.com. Upon receipt of a valid takedown notice, Global Servers will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the infringing material. Account holders who believe their content was wrongly removed may submit a counter-notification as described in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). Accounts that receive three or more valid DMCA notices within a 12-month period may be subject to termination.
